Tour Description & Additional Info:
Hanoi Fun Ride 2.
5 hours on a back of our vintage Vespa gives you a glance view of our charming capital city.
You will be picked up at the hotel and take a short drive to the Opera House for group photography.
Begin the excursion by a drive pass the narrow and bustling 36 guild streets of the Old Quarter were named for 36 trades or craft that set up in this area north of the lake, and created high-quality goods to supply the royals in the Thang Long Citadel, just steps away. Today only a few streets sell the same products they once did. Some streets, however, have kept the traditions of the past; and these can be great fun to explore on foot, and with your camera in hand.
Get inside the French Quarter when you drive along some of the most beautiful tree-lined avenues, hidden behind are the moss colonial buildings and villas.
You also have a glimpse of some zigzag alleys, the sites related to the December 1972 bombing of Hanoi: the B52 lake to see the body of US aircraft and the John McCain monument which now standing on the bank of the West lake.
Admire the Guinness record mosaic wall before crossing over to the Long Bien bridge that connect two bank of the Red river. The bridge was built in 1899-1902 by the architects Daydé & Pillé of Paris, and opened in 1903.Before North Vietnam's independence in 1954, it was called Paul-Doumer Bridge, named after Paul Doumer - The Governor-General of French Indochina and then French president.
Hop on your Vespa to see the train street. Running through these narrow residential streets is a railway track that is still in use and twice a day a speeding train passes through, brushing past the shop fronts and houses. The residents know when the train is coming and minutes before its arrival they move their market stalls, playing children and shop displays away from the track, continuing on as normal when the train has passed through. Your guide will time your arrival to witness this incredible event.
Get inside a local cafe, date back to 1946 where you can try the best Hanoi specialties - Ca Phe Trung (The egg coffee) and sunflower seed before returning to your hotel.
